Client : Sonoco Products
Project : Roll Machine Retrofit
Location : Hartsville, South Carolina
Volume : 84,000 cu ft
Duration : 1 Month
Project Description
No two-dimensional documentation existed to aid with repairs or upgrades of an
older machine and heavily field routed piping at the Hartsville facility.
Sonoco requested an intelligent 3D as-built PASCE model to use as a reference for future
improvements.
Scope of Services
During a site visit, as-built information was generated of
the 14 bays spread over the operating and basement levels.
This information was used to produce the required intelligent 3D as-built model and included
equipment and structural features for the entire area.
Piping was also modeled to Sonoco’s specifications, based on piping materials, and included the
addition of pipe routing for both levels. The model was delivered in the requested
format.
Client : Sonoco Products
Project : Core Winding Facility Upgrade
Location : Chester, Virginia
Project Description
The purpose of the Chester project was to increase production at the facility with
the addition of a new winder. It was determined that a PASCE 3D model would be
advantageous to maximize the available space in the existing structure. Also
upon completion of the project an animation would be generated to help in safety
planning and employee training at the site.
Scope of Services
During the site visit control data was gathered to capture
the required information. A PASCE 3D CAD model was generated containing the
existing equipment along with the structural steel and door Location : s for the
facility. The model was successfully used to meet the Client : s’ needs and
requirements.
